Cape Town St. George's Cathedral - South Africa         Sir Herbert Baker built St. George's Cathedral out of sandstone from Table Mountain. This cathedral is seen as the mother church of the Anglican community in South Africa.   It became especially well known thanks to the Archbishop Desmond Tutu during the Apartheid era and it was a sanctuary for demonstrators.   Black Madonna     St George's Cathedral               Coming from Adderley Street you will find the cathedral at the beginning of the Company Gardens. When entering the cathedral you have the feeling of walking into a church in the centre of Europe.
